Mr. Alric Lee
Founder of Lady Liberty Hong Kong and Executive Director of Japan Hong Kong Democracy Alliance
Alric Lee, a native of Hong Kong, pursued his undergraduate studies in the United Kingdom before obtaining a Master's degree in Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 2017. In the midst of the intense anti-extradition bill protests in 2019, Alric founded the Lady Liberty Hong Kong group, a pivotal force in the movement. The group gained recognition for creating the iconic Lady Liberty Hong Kong statue, significantly contributing to the visual narrative of the protests. Under Alric's leadership, Lady Liberty Hong Kong has organized numerous art-focused exhibitions and advocacy campaigns across the globe. These initiatives aim to elevate the voices of Hongkongers living abroad and to shed light on their struggle for democracy. In 2023, Alric expanded his commitment to promoting democracy by assuming the role of Executive Director at the Japan Hong Kong Democracy Alliance. This organization is dedicated to amplifying the voices of Hongkongers in Japan and fostering solidarity among pro-democracy groups throughout East Asia.
