Mr. Harry van Bommel
Former Dutch Member of Parliament and Human Rights Activist.
Harry van Bommel is a former Dutch Member of Parliament and human rights activist. He was a member of the Dutch Parliament (House of Representatives) from 1998 to 2017. He focused on matters of foreign policy and the European Union. In the Dutch Parliament he specialised in human rights related to religious and cultural minorities. Mr. Van Bommel is still active on human rights issues related to Uyghurs, Tibetans and Ahmadis. He advises governments on matters concerning recognition, development and conflict prevention. He also provides training to activists and politicians in young democracies. Currently Harry van Bommel works as strategic executive advisor for the city of Zwolle.
