Ms. Kathleen Ferrier
Chair of the Netherlands Commission for UNESCO
Kathleen Ferrier was born in Suriname. She studied Spanish and Portuguese in the Netherlands and lived and worked in Chile (1984-1991), Brazil (1991-1994) and Hong Kong (2013-2018). From 2002-2012 Kathleen served as a member of Parliament in the Netherlands, for the Christian Democratic Party. Since 2019 she is the chair of the Dutch UNESCO Commission. She is a specialist in international relations, human rights, diversity and inclusion. She is involved in different boards and initiatives that aim at strengthening democracy and human rights at the global level.
