Kenneth YEUNG is currently doing his PhD research in socio-political philosophy at l’Université Paris Cité (formerly the University of Paris Diderot) after graduating from l’Université Catholique de Louvain (MPhil, focusing on populism) as well as his other master’s degree at the Chinese University (major in philosophy). His research topic is about the tensions and relations between populism and participative democracy.
Besides, Kenneth YEUNG is one of the founders of the Hong Kong cultural association – CUBE – in France, as well as the chief organizer of the Paris Hong Kong Film Festival (FFHKP). He has a long history with documentaries, and working as an independent documentarian, he had a profound love for working with grassroots communities, of whom he put in the images for more than a decade. Volunteered in the documentarian organization in Hong Kong – v-artivist, he culminated experiences and furthered his field of work to that of the community artists in Hong Kong. He is multi-faceted, currently working as a freelance translator in Europe (in Cantonese, Mandarin, English and French) and has written essays as a columnist and film critic in several Hong Kong media.
