Ms. Christine Chu
LLM Candidate in International and Transnational Criminal Law, Juris Doctor, based in the Netherlands.
Christine Chu is currently pursuing her LLM in International and Transnational Criminal Law at the University of Amsterdam. She received her Juris Doctor and PCLL from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Her research revolves around human rights protection and international core crimes, with a specific emphasis on Crimes Against Humanity. Before delving into legal studies, Christine also conducted research on Hong Kong's cultural, religious, and social history at Hong Kong Baptist University. Outside the academic realm, Christine is a poet and she actively engaged in activism for gender-related issues, advocating for LGBTQ+ communities in Hong Kong and the Netherlands. She contributed to various legal initiatives in both Hong Kong and China defending the rights of gender minorities. In 2023, she took a significant stride in community legal education by establishing the first Chinese-language online legal database, covering human rights topics.
